What students are saying

I finished my first 8-week course with Chika and can’t wait to start again in the fall. Great atmosphere, people and experience overall. Pottery can be frustrating as a beginner but with their guidance and your own patience you’ll find that every week you make small improvements. I now have a few pieces I can use and feel proud of.

I have taken several 8 week sessions here. Once I started with Chika, I intentionally signed up for her classes going forward because she is such a wonderful instructor. I had a really hard time the first session but loved it anyway and wanted to keep trying and learning. And every session, under Chika’s guidance, I got better and better. Still not great but I have unique, usable pieces now! Chika's instructions are clear and she is very encouraging and hands-on.

I’ve taken two 8-week courses with Chika. She was very helpful, kind and offered guidance, assistance and tips throughout each class. I also met so many lovely people throughout the courses and I can’t wait to continue exploring pottery and taking more classes at the studio!

Questions before you register?
Do I need experience?
Not at all! Our beginner classes are designed for students with little or no pottery experience.
What is included?
Your first 5kg of clay is included in the class price. Additional clay can be purchased in 5 kg blocks for $20.00. Most students use 1–3 blocks per session. All glazes and firings are included in the registration fee.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty. Clay washes out of most fabrics, but pottery is a hands-on process.
What if I miss a class?
Make-up classes are possible if there is space in another class. If no space is available, a make-up class may be arranged during the final class of another session for glazing.
